Should I buy a used camaro now?

The other option is to wait for the 2009 to come out and then buy one at the end of the season. Should I get it now?

A 5 year old Camaro is going to have some shakes and rattles. I would wait for the next generation in 2009! They look great

I used to love the Camaros and Firebirds. But with gas at $5/gallon I have changed my mind when it comes to daily transportation needs. Buy a used VW Bug! They have more room on the inside, and if you really need some performance you can find a Bug with a factor installed Turbo option.

My wife has a 2002 camaro and has wreaked it and came within five hundred dollars of totaling it twice. It has been in nine wreaks total and it still runs and handles like a tight car. The only thing I do not like about it is the engine sits under the dash and has blind spots.

Ebay Motors usually has a good selection of B4C Police Package Camaros. They have the V8, are generally in good shape and have all the upgraded police-spec components. If you can deal with the slushbox, they're probably a good alternative.

If you're really brave, there's always the IROC-Z.

No. Do yourself a favor and buy a car in the middle that's better than both: a 6.0 litre GTO. Newer than the used Camaro, MUCH faster than the old one and equal to if not faster than the '09, and with a true, comfortable back seat. It's great around town, getting about 16-18 MPG if you're conservative with it a good bit of the time, and it's GREAT on road trips; getting over 21 MPG easily when there's plenty of highway time, plus it's very comfortable. When it comes to looks, I know people hate on it's simplicity, but it's definitely no worse than the last gen Camaro. Car and Driver lists it as one of it's "Best Used Cars under $20,000" and they couldn't be more right.
